We want to share some helpful resources and information to support you during your pregnancy and postpartum. Below are links to educational materials, details about health benefits you may qualify for, and ways our team can assist you during this special time.

Call the member services number on the back of your ID card, or log in to your member account via the Home State Health Member Portal to complete a Notification of Pregnancy.
Need Help Finding a Provider for Prenatal and Specialty Care?
It’s important to see a doctor if you are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant. If you need help finding an OB-GYN, we can help.

Our Care Management Team is Here to Help
Our Care Management team helps pregnant members stay healthy during and after pregnancy. A care manager can answer questions, connect you with resources, and help you get the care you need. They can also support you with doctor visits, transportation, and other services to make sure you and your baby stay well.
Contact our Care Management team by calling 1-855-694-HOME (4663) (TTY: 711) for Home State Health and 1-877-236-1020 for Show Me Healthy Kids or submit a Care Management Referral form to have a member of our Care team contact you.
Flu Season
Will you be pregnant this flu season?
Healthcare Providers recommend that you get a flu shot. Being pregnant increases your risk of getting very sick from the flu. Studies show that the flu shot is safe for pregnant women. Stay healthy during your pregnancy.

Home State Health hosts fun and informative baby showers for moms-to-be. Check out our outreach page for events near you.
Breast pump program- You may qualify for a breast pump. They can be shipped 30 days prior to delivery. You can order a breast pump through Tenderheart THO Referral Portal or by calling the care management department.
Breast pumps do require a script from your doctor.

Having information to support a healthy pregnancy and delivery is important. Below you will find a few resources available to you.
Healthy Moms Healthy Babies is a Missouri specific website that gives you important information about pregnancy, postpartum care, and available resources.
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services provides information on various programs offered throughout the state including, WIC, Women’s Health, and Infant and Child Health.
Start Smart for Your Baby is our care management program dedicated to supporting you throughout pregnancy and after your baby is born. This program website provides a lot of educational information about caring for you and baby.
Here are some helpful links with tips on caring for your baby:
Family planning services are covered under your MO Healthnet pharmacy benefit. Talk to your doctor about birth control options to find the best plan for you and your future.
- MO HealthNet covers most prescription prenatal vitamins, folic acid, and over-the-counter oral iron, with a prescription from a healthcare provider. Find a list of covered prescription prenatal vitamins here. Other prescription prenatal vitamins not on the list may be available with prior authorization.
Taking care of your mental health and substance use is important for both you and your baby. Below are some resources available to you.
- If you are feeling sad, irritable, hopeless, or worried, help is available. Call 988 Lifeline for support.
- If your relationship is causing you to question your safety or the safety of the baby, call 1-800-799-7233. If it is not safe for you to call, the National Domestic Violence Hotline has a live chat service to provide real-time support. For information about relationship health please visit our Relationship Health/Domestic Violence page.
- Concerned with how your medications can affect pregnancy and breastfeeding? Talk to your doctor or call MotherToBaby at 1-866-626-6487.
- Trying to decrease or stop substance use? Call Care Management for support with a referral.
- There are risks of marijuana use in pregnancy. Refer to the Marijuana use in pregnancy (PDF) for more information.
- If you are a Show Me Healthy Kids member, you have access to the Pyx app which provides additional support for managing depression and anxiety. Please call Care Management at 1-877-236-1020 to learn more.
You can be rewarded for completing a Notification of Pregnancy, attending prenatal and postpartum visits, and more. To learn more about what incentives you may qualify for visit our My Health Pays Rewards page.
My Health Pays can be used to pay for utilities, transportation, telecommunications, childcare services, education, rent, and at Walmart to shop for everyday items such as baby items and household items.
- Dental and Vision Benefits: You might be eligible for dental and vision benefits. We can help get you connected with an in-network provider for needed services. Call us at 1-855-694-4663 for more information
- Belly Bands: You are eligible for a belly band by calling Care Management.
- Mom’s Meals: You can be eligible for 30 meals after delivery if engaged in care management services. Please reach out for more information, 1-855-694-4663.
- Blood Pressure and Diabetes Support: You may be eligible for a telemonitoring device, blood pressure cuff or CGM if you have a history of hypertension or diabetes. Call our care management team to see if you are eligible.
- Doula services are a covered benefit. Access our Find A Provider Tool to find a doula in network and near you.

- Call the Quit Smoking Hotline at 1-800-QUIT-NOW or text MOM to 222888 for help.
- Baby and Me Tobacco Free: Receive diapers and baby wipes by quitting smoking. Access one-on-one phone or video counseling from the comfort of your home, create a plan to support and help you quit smoking, and earn gift cards for diapers and baby wipes. Quitting is the most important thing you can do for your health and the health of your baby.
Vaccine Recommendations:
Getting vaccinated during pregnancy helps protect both you and your baby. Important vaccines you may need include:
- Flu - Influenza (Flu) Vaccine
- Pneumonia
- TDAP- Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis Vaccine
- Coronavirus - COVID-19 Vaccine
- RSV Vaccine
Vaccines are covered through your pharmacy benefit with MO HealthNet.
STD Testing:
It is important for you to go for STD testing while you are pregnant. This will help protect you and the baby. Some STDs can be passed down to baby so having the appropriate testing is important. STD’s that can be passed from mother to baby during birth include:
- HIV – Can be transmitted during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding.
- Gonorrhea – Can infect the baby’s eyes, causing blindness if untreated.
- Chlamydia – Can cause pneumonia or eye infections in newborns.
- Herpes (HSV-1 & HSV-2) – Can cause severe infections if the baby is exposed during vaginal delivery.
- Hepatitis B – Can be passed during birth, leading to chronic liver disease in the baby.
- Trichomoniasis – May lead to preterm birth or low birth weight.
- Syphilis – Can cross the placenta during pregnancy, leading to congenital syphilis.
- Congenital Syphilis is a serious condition passed from mother to baby during pregnancy, can be prevented through routine STD testing, early detection, and timely treatment during pregnancy.
Community Resources
Below you will find some resources available to support you with food assistance including WIC and SNAP, home visiting programs for maternal and child health, and services providing baby items, food, transportation and housing support.

- Transportation is available for eligible members through MTM. Transportation is available to go to childbirth classes, community resources, WIC appointments, counseling, and more. To schedule a ride call 1-866-455-2097 or book a ride online.
- WIC: Women, Infants and Children is a supplemental food and nutrition program for families that also offers referrals to healthcare, immunizations, and community services. Women, Infants and Children
- SNAP: The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program offers a monthly benefit to help you buy food and food products.
- Nurse Visiting Programs: Families develop a close relationship with a nurse who advises and supports them through a healthy pregnancy to raising a healthy child. Reach out to your care management team for support with a referral.
- Children's Trust Fund: Show Me Healthy Kid members are eligible for a referral through Children’s Trust Fund for home visiting services.
